Ray Kublik
Finish Carpenter
My path to construction started by taking architectural drafting in high school and working with a home builder weekends and summers. One summer I worked for a German finishing carpenter and was something I really enjoyed. I completed the general apprentice carpenter program . In the early 70s I started working on my own doing general finishing, cabinets, staircases etc.
I enjoy seeing projects from design to completion.
I started working with Ryan a few years ago doing curved display cabinets with hidden doors, I was up to the challenge as I have done curved work in the past.Ryan has been super helpful in developing my interests.
My boys learned finishing with me growing up and have thanked me many times for the experience. Now I am mentoring a granddaughter and grandson on the lathe, this is making me grow more skills so I can teach them. Another grand son is learning router skills and wants to make knives, so again I am stretching myself to learn how to. In my free time I love turning things on the lathe and building other things, going riding on my adventure motorcycle backroads, hiking, camping, doing stuff with family, and photography.
I’ve earned a certificate in photography from SAIT. I enjoy working with Ryan’s crew, seeing larger projects come in. Ryan is the most helpful for us in advancing our skills, being a great go between with builders, designers, clients.
Thank you Ryan for the work, the great times, and challenges!
