What exactly is custom millwork?
If you have had the opportunity of building or renovating your home, your contractor has most likely used the word “millwork” when referencing wood elements of the home. Traditionally, millwork simply referred to anything that could be manufactured in a mill. This could include home features such as trim, door frames, crown molding, railing and wood panelling. Today, millwork is typically decorative, aesthetically appealing woodwork that is intended to enhance the architectural appeal of the home. In 2007 Ryan Walker founded Custom Edge Finishing with the goal to transform carpentry and millwork into a thing of unique and personalized beauty. Walker wanted to provide clients with the premium home embellishments of their dreams and that is where our business was born. Over the years Custom Edge has worked with some of Calgary’s most prestigious, award winning, custom home builders, constructing stunning, complex and unique wood working projects in a variety Calgary homes. All of our work is completed with exceptional detail and truly distinctive craftsmanship.
